Its a tricky one...
its based on a modern photo of the PDL Mustang II but with decals and signwriting of "the day"
so the Torro Toys logo on the front spoiler isnt right as yet... hmmm.. I sense some overpainting..
but its growing on me...

Sunday, bloody Sunday
Not a lot to show for two hours, except that I had to redraw the top wing again - that's the problem with not paying attention. Or was it having to listen to Brett singing while he painted the Skyhawk? He didn't even have the common decency to sing something with a flying theme like Up, Up and Away or Fly Me to the Moon. Still, we both made some progress.

Sunday sunday...
2 more solid hours work by both of us..
The Skyhawk has an under painted background (now onto oils)
The Torro Toy has a nice red wing..
And Warwick has continued on with the new Fokker..

Later that night
The two commissions look good, Brett - the owner should be best pleased. Nice work.
Cold yet sunny sat
Finally a clear day! Hooray. Poor old cepher ( c for cat) is very sick. Probably just 1 more week! But she's by the fire and I'm here having just spent a couple of hours doing the falcon. Almost done thank god! Then it's on to the mustang. I've found a superb old photo of the McRae gm1 in 1973 so that's definitely now on the list. Warwick coming round tomorrow so will prolly do some sky hawk painting. That'll be cool. Can't wait to do a good painting now the underpainting (the correct pro term) is done!
5 sales this week and war wicks sold HIS corsair so that's great news!
Need it to pay for the iplop!!.....

Back in the saddle...
It's been a while since I posted - my apologies, Brett - but it's been a trying few weeks what with restructures & redundancies. I think everything is sorted (touch wood, he said, placing a finger on his head).
I had started the Falcon that Brett is now working on (the grille is mine, for the moment) but I just couldn't engender enough enthusiasm to progress it. It was, therefore, quite pleasing listening to Brett this morning cursing & swearing about how difficult all those decals were. I think he had used just about every coloured pencil he owns (& every possible four letter word).
I have decided to do another Fokker DR1 triplane. They're not very exciting in real life - small & stubby - but I do enjoy drawing them - probably something to do with the bright colours they were painted in. So, here is the beginning of my next offering:
